Air Con stopped working

Hi there! Are there any fuses other than the one under the dash that control the a/c? Mine has suddenly stopped working - the electronic clutch on the compressor has stopped kicking in. I can hear a relay clicking on nearside of dash and the switch lights up and the fan in the car comes on but nothing under the bonnet! it's a mk1 hgt? Thanks in advance!

The symptoms you wrote indicate lack of cooling gas. The system has a 3 stage valve that checks the pressure in the system, when the main (air con) pressure is under the designated value, the air con will not trigger the clutch on the compressor.

Thanks Sven! It must have sprung a leak as it was fine one day then not the next!
May not bother re-gassing it to find out! Will probably leak out again
