Technical Air con problem

Hi, I have have found out that my air conditioning evaporator inside the cab is leaking

Has anyone replaced this on one of these cars? The Haynes manual shows this as a hugeeee job, surely there has to be an easier way??

Don't spam here (don't ask same thing multiple times). This shows you have no control, patience (which is required to repair cars).

Removing the interior/cockpit/dashboard is a big job, but still doable at home, DIY. Perfect for a weekend.
