I was with Adrian flux for 6+ yrs as my other car is heavily modded & every year the premium went up by £10+
This year it went up by over £60 so I phoned around and saved nearly £200

+1 for Adrian Flux. Ring up for the best deal, but for my first car the insurance price was not even half of the next best quote.

iv been with this insurance for 4 months and its the worst insurance iv ever been with, they was asking me to send alsorts of documents, even personal wage slips in then they threatened to cancel and tried sending me letters saying I owe 300 pound, do not go with this insurance they rip you off

Hi

If you could PM me your reference number I can check your file and confirm what we need and why if that helps.

Thanks

Dan

Maybe not ripping you off but unreasonable. What happened to utmost good faith?!

Hi,
I wish we didn't always have to ask for the documentation that we do but unfortunately car insurance is an area that is particularly susceptible to fraud and we ask for it to help protect ourselves and our insurance partners.

Dan.

I can understand why you need this at new business. I can understand in the event of trying to make a claim etc, but most other companies don't need it, can you use similar processes to them

Also out of interest, do you make new customers aware of what you need before you setup a policy or do you set it up and ask after its been incepted? I know if I was told all this before setting up a policy then I'd probably be ok with it, but I'd be furious if a few weeks after inception you started asking for this and that extra.

It's not done weeks later. When the policy documents are sent out there is a list of documents which need returned.

Edit: I realise that's a renewal, but the initial email was very similar only asking for a couple more documents.

But are customers told about this before they setup a policy on the phone? If nots and the first thing you know is the request when the docs arrive in the post then its unreasonable IMO. The only thing I expect (as with 99% of people) to provide, if requested as its not always, is proof of NCD.

Hi

It depends on what and why documents are requested. Generally documents required are confirmed over the phone but that's not to say the Insurers will not request documentation further into the policy.

A great deal of Insurers have asked for No claims bonus, copy driving licences etc for many years.

We can always accept faxed or emailed copies so the Client is never out of pocket and inconvenience kept to a minimum.

As long as everything is in order this shouldn't cause any problems and also, if our records are correct this safeguards the Client in the event of any problem arising from this situation for future claims against the policy.

Regards Dan

been on the phone an hour and a half to sister compamy HIC all i want is 1 quote with no claims declared, and 1 quote with one non fault claim passed around 4 departments started and ended with quote team. still dont have the info i need to give solisitor.

just get told by unqualifed staff that its not some thing that can be done and not a loss i can claim.

there are threads on this forum that show it is and can be done so why not with flux/hic?

Dan, my policy is due for renewal on 19/02/2013 for my current car, a 2010 Abarth 500 but on 02/03/2013 I pick up my new car, an Abarth 595 Turismo MTA. This means that after just 10 days into the new policy I will need to amend it to add the new car.

Due to the current mileage restriction on my policy I would like to know which is the best/cheapest course of action to take. Is it best to renew it for my current car, cancel after 10 days and then take out a brand new policy with amended mileage options for the new car or just renew my original policy and then contact you to amend the details to reflect the new registration and mileage options?

Hope you can make sense of the above as I have had problems in the past whilst trying to explain to AF staff on the phone so I would like to get some idea of how to approach them without being told that what I want to do is not possible.

Cheers

Tony

Got a provisional quote for my 595T from the website of c£266.00 and received a follow up email from AF saying that the best prices were on the phone and to give them a ring. Because my new car is not being collected until 02/03/2013 they wouldn't quote me until I pressed them hard and said that I had already received one from them. They eventually offered me £356 then after much haggling £316. How is that cheaper?

Anyway, received an email from them today with the renewal fee for my existing A500 ( cost £242.45 last year). It was for £10,628.94, luckily that included the £30 policy fee or else I might have been shocked.

I have to say that it is very hard work dealing with them on the phone, nearly an hour last night as there don't seem to be any experienced people available whenever I call, I am always being put on hold after I ask a question whilst they consult a supervisor.

Maybe I'm just unlucky but unless someone actually manages to convince me they know what they are talking about I will be going to one of the several other reputable companies who have given much better prices with extra benefits for less money.

Hi Tony

If you need the 500 covered up until 2.3.13 you will need to renew it on the 19.2.13 then we can look at the change of vehicle quote for you.

If you PM me your reference and contact number I will get someone to call you to discuss further.

Thanks

Dan
