Technical acceleration problem?

Hello all, having probs with my coupe. When accelerating everything is as rapid as it should be until i hit 4th gear, then at about 3000rpm it judders a bit and doesn't want to go any quicker. Any ideas? i think possibly ignition but want to pick everyone elses brains before a start changing things.

Try unplugging the MAF, if the car goes better then try taking it off and cleaning it with some electronic cleaning solvent. But don't go poking inside otherwise you will break it.

If the car still goes worse with it connected you need a new one.

It may also be worth checking your throttle cable is opening the butterfly correctly

Cheers for that. I've cured it though - all i did was change the plugs and its back to normal.
