Hi!

I've got a '98 Bravo 1.6, approx 80' km... Suddenly I noticed that when I accelerate hard the "boost" disappears when I get above 4000 rpm, and the needle slowly raises and stops at 6300 rpm... I thougt the rpm limiter was above 7000, and I thougt that the car should have more boost from 4500-6000, than from 3000-4000 rpm... What can be wrong?? Frustrating to drive around with less power than there should be... Hope I get som advice from you;)

it could be a blocked exhaust dodgy injector worn cams dead oxygen sensor etc etc. the only way to find the problem is to start taking it appart ;)

i had that problem with my 1.6, it might be ur timming...i played around with mine and its better now..try that!

How did you play with your timing?

As Ash says, could be many things. You've not said when it was last serviced.

It was serviced 4000 km ago... It was fine after that, then suddenly loosing the "boost" from 4000 and up...

The timing; how do I adjust this??

Could it be the knock sensor or a bad catalytic converter...
