Hello,

The ABS light has just come on on my 1997 Barchetta.
It stays on all the time even when I switch off the ignition and restart the engine.
I have checked all the connections to the sensors and also the gap beteween sensor and toothed rings.
Is there anyway I can determine the faulty sensor or other part rather than replace all 4 sensors etc.

Prior to the light appearing the car has recently been pulling to the nearside at the front under heavy braking, I have checked the calipers and pads and discs for binding or seizing but all seems OK, I am thinking of replacing the flexible hoses as I understand they can fail inside.Don't know if this is connected to the ABS light matter above.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

I would get the codes read from the ECU, it could give you a better indication as to what is wrong.
If it is pulling to one side and you are absolutely certain it is not pads, discs, tyres, then I would suggest looking to see if a caliper has seized.

Just been advised after a diagnostic check that the pressure relay is the problem with the ABS
The ABS unit is a Bosch and according to the workshop manual only the ecu can be replaced.
Has anyone undertaken such a task or replace the complete unit or I am better leaving it with 'the experts'

Thanks

You'll need to take it back to the 'experts' (I use this term loosely) to have the codes deleted anyway after replacing the parts.

It all comes down to budget...
