hi I have a fiat ducatto Elddis CV40 campervan , the ABS,ESC, Traction lights came on dash board vehicle drives ok, was put on diagnostic unit and showed up as drivers rearwheel sensor fault, bought a new sensor fitted it , but now lights still on when put back on diagnostic it says no ABS fitted ??, do I need to drive the van to reset this error guys , supposed to be going up north for a few days, any help is appreciated.

I’m unsure to whether or not the more modern (you don’t say what year or model you have) Ducato’s need the component to be coded in - hopefully someone with that knowledge can tell you….Every ABS sensor I’ve fitted has needed the vehicle to be driven a short distance around the block to recalibrate/reset the system. Try it.

As for the diagnostic tool not reading the ABS module smacks of the well documented fragility of the module itself but fingers crossed it’s not - take it for a run and recheck.

Fingers xed taking it for a run had cured issue.

Fortunately abs sensors do not require "coding" .

If not What year van ? Which engine? Mileage?
Which diagnostic unit? Who connected/used diagnostic unit?
What was fault code -there are several different abs fault codes for each wheel etc.
Did you personally fit a new sensor? What brand sensor ? Where bought from? Has the wiring too sensor been checked fully?
I am concerned by "no abs fitted"

I think you would be very sensible to take it too an experienced technician

Not definitive, but looking at MultiECUscan data for an X290 ABS unit, it has two "adjustments" defining calibration, and the accompanying text states
"Calibration must be performed if the sensor or the ABS electronic control unit are replaced.
NOTE: The vehicle must be stationary on a flat surface and the wheels must be straight."

(BTW, I'm wary of this being a requirement, it's no something I've seen mentioned for replacement, but the wording is definitely there).
