General Abarth turbo boost gauge

I picked up the Turismo yesterday and didn't notice until I practically got home that the boost guage needle wasn't moving. I've googled it and it seems a common thing for it to play up. I know jack ****e about engines so how would I know the turbo is doing it's job. The car accelerates ok but don't feel any difference when the sport button is turned on. Mine didn’t seem to work sometimes. Gave it a whack and it started working. Steering goes stiffer and the speedo changes when in sport.

Thanks for the reply. The Speedo changes but not sure on the steering. I'll check it out. Apart from whacking the guage would that mean everything seems to be ok?

You should notice a big difference between eco and sport with acceleration

So if I accelerate in eco and while accelerating push the sport button I should notice a difference?

Yes. Accelerate (not too hard) in eco and push the sport button. You should feel a big surge in power if the turbo is working correctly

Also, the turbo still kicks in (according to the boost gauge) whilst in eco, just nowhere near as much....

There’s a big difference in boost. Steering does go much noticeably stiffer which I hate. It’s the same in my 500X, I don’t use sport mode because of the stiff steering. Really annoying.

Had a day off from work today cause I felt unwell and took the time to clean the car inside. Anyway as soon as I set off the boost guage kicked in. I must of jogged it as I was cleaning the dash hahaha. Took it out on the duel carriageway and pressed the sport button and hey ho I felt the sport mode kick in. So well pleased with that. Thanks all for the replies
