The metal things are for attaching the skirts under the sills! i reccomend get them fitted proffensionally, that way it it goes tits up its thier problem (which they will have to sort) and you havent wasted your money!
i had a right game getting mine on but they turned out well in the end!
the way i did them was:
you will need at least 2 people
adheasive silicon (i used tiger seal)
self tapping screws 1/2inch
masking tape
to start you will need to jack the whole side of the car up and take off both wheels. line the skirts up against the car and you find the two brackets line up with some plugs under the sills.
remove the plugs and with the hole lined up, pre drill the inner arches (there should be some small indents in each end of the skirt where this should be done.)
remove the skirts away from the car and clean where the adheasive will make contact with some t-cut.
now the way i did it was to clip the brackets into into the holes underneath the car with those metal clips. get someone to flex the skirt out away from the car and run the adheasive all the way down the reccess on the top edge of the skirt (be careful with the amount, to much will go everywhere, to little wont stick!)
now slowly let the skirt flex back up to the side of the car, get someone to hold the skirt agianst the side of the car while you screw the ends in with self tapping screws in your pre-drilled holes. this will keep the skirts in place.
now go all the way down the top edge pressing the skirt against the side of the car followed by masking it tightly. when satisfied put the wheels back on and repeat the whole proceedure for the other side.
preferably leave the adheasive to dry overnight
following day remove the masking tape and check the top adge has a sufficent seal (this is where i had problems)
then run down the top edge with a thin beading just to fill in any gaps.
any silicon can be removed from the side of the car with thiners (and there will be some)
then all thats left is to place your abarth badges in the reccess, stand back and marvell at your hard work and determination!
hope this will help!
i will try and post some pics a soon as i can!!
