I'm in the process of restoring my 68 500f and I will like to make it a Abarth 595 replica. I want to know if its possible to flare the original wheel arches to replicate the abarth wheel arches or should I just buy this http://www.500mania.it/ns/index.php/view_italiano/prodotti/fiberglass-parts/fenders.html

This site sells two different ones, one sticks out an extra 1.5 cm and the other one sticks out an extra 3 cm.
If i buy this pieces witch one will be better to use to replicate the abarth wheel arches?

Thank You

yes, I found a place here in Italy that sells some fiberglass abarth 695ss assetto corsa wheel arches replicas and i just ordered a set but i wont be putting them on for a couple of months because I need to rebuild my engine and that is going to cost some money because I'm upgrading the engine to 700cc. right now in just parts for the engine I have spent over 1300 euro

What size did you go for? The wider or narrower of the two?

I know it has been some time, but can anyone tell me how much longer these fenders are ? I found some 13cm, and that seems huge to me, are those bigger ? smaller ?

Hi folks;
sorry I haven't been able to respond earlier to this query, but I had an urgent visit to a very poorly old friend. With regard to the question of wheel-arch sizes, I fitted 'group 2' arches to my 500. I decided to have 'bolt-on' arches instead of 'moulded' arches as these would be a lot easier to replace/ repair if damaged. I got them from Middle Barton Garage; the original wheel arches have to be cut back and then welded-up/cleaned-up prior to fitting the arches; mine are fitted on with 'rivbolts' and a rubber gasket between the body and the wheel arch. I'm pretty useless at putting photos on this site, so if anybody wants a photo of my car with these arches in place, please feel free to contact me on:- [email protected] and I will forward an e-mail with a couple of pictures attached.(y)
