Saved me a fortune last year,

even claimed for my wiper arms when they broke, had a new motor and arms fitted by local Fiat dealer and AA paid the bill less the £25 payment, also paid £475 towards the gearbox and £475 towards the Dual mass cylinder bill.

Not sure about other companies, but AA breakdown repair cover only requires service history from the date the policy was started.

The excess went up from £25 to £35 this year or for renewals during this year.
