After a several 700 mile / week commutes, my 80SX has developed a metallic squeak after cold start, that disappears in less than a minute.

It isn't a belt squeak (pressing clutch makes no difference either), but comes from near the alternator, or possibly water pump. My guess is possibly due to road salt, but anyone had anything similar?
I've sprayed alternator with WD40, but made no difference. All belts were replaced less than 5k miles ago, and mileage is still only 34k.

its ur started motor barrings

mine does it, nothing to worry about. mine has been like that for over a year now and is still fine. starts 1st time everytime

I have the same little problem with my 100SX.
After I cold start the engine I can hear a irregular squeak coming from the engine...but I can't say where it came from...I thought It was from the clutch, but I just replaced the clutch kit and the squeak is still there...
The squeak alsa in my case dissaperas after about 1 or 2 minutes...

I forgot to say that I can hear that squeak especially when I am trying to move the car.....when the car is on Idle and standing still...I can't say that I cand hear the squeak...

Maybe it's coming from the exaust pipes that moves when the car moves...and after they get heated..they no longer squeak....I don't know what else could be
