Hello,
I noticed after my oil change that roughly 500 miles since oil change that it was down 1/2 L or Quart on the dipstick. So did a search on here and found this post:
As I read it I noticed someone talking about how the dealership "SEALS" points of oil entry/exit. When I read that it got me thinking. Why the hell is there this grey compound on the oil filler cap and dipstick?
That got me thinking that perhaps this car in it's past has already had a it's dealership oil change and passed their "test" which warranted no new engine?
It's first oil change so have no previous knowledge. Is it really true that the dealership might change the whole engine even though it's 9 years old?
This is a USA vechicle.
