Technical 500 L Dash removal & buzzer for indicators

Following the brilliant advise to sort out my flasher relay last week, can anyone advise how i can improve the green indicator lights on the centre of my cash 500L (not the round dash). By the way it's right hand drive..
Is it easy to remove the whole speedo unit & fit an LED bulb? I would like to clean the inside of the Speedo lens at the same time or even replace the lens as it has a small split of crack in one corner. When the unit is out, would anyone know if the perspex is removable?
Also as I have used the Durite flasher unit (see above post) , can I run a small buzzer or bleeper (easy to find on ebay) from one of the pins on the relay? If so which pins?

The pod does come apart...
there is a hidden screw under a little metal thing/bit..... it is ok to remove the metal bit... a sort of anti-tamper cover...

be careful using any normal household cleaners on the inside as the paint etc may come off... simple coupe of drops washing up liquid and water, and make sure it is rinsed thoroughly....

I think the Pod clips in and you squeeze the clips from under the bonnet

I think most people would recommend converting to LEDs...

Somewhere sells actual Bulbs (correct name lamps- as bulbs you plant in the garden)... I'm sure many on here have done so... and will tell you the sites... but Google should turn up a fair few.... Probably a site called "LED Car Lights"... the lenses in the dash pod may also need a clean...

make sure you label up the cables and/or take a few photos before you pull things apart...

Barry, I would try firstly to connect the bleeper between pin 31 negative side and C the positive output pin for the dash light. It may make your dash light dimmer though before you find an LED bulb for it.

I am not familiar with the L dash but I imagine it uses the same bulb as the round speedo??? There is someone on eBay selling what he claims are the correct LED bulbs for the 500 dash.

Reminds me of my daughter's very first school holiday job over Christmas at a big garden centre. First job she was given was to tidy the Christmas tree decorations. A lady customer approached her and asked about bulbs. My daughter apologised and said she knew nothing about gardening and suggested a more experienced member of staff might help. The lady then produced a blown Christmas tree light bulb :)
Back to business my 126 DeVille has a buzzer fitted at the back of the dash.

The 'L' dash is very easy to remove---there are 2 spring clips on the bottom edge which holds it in place against the raised section of the dash-board. A flat screw driver can be used to displace the clips, and then pull theinstrument cluster away from the bottom.

I am quoting myself! Because out of interest I bought the LED bulbs in the above link to see if they fitted in my F’s round speedo and dash lights and they do. I must admit I was a bit sceptical at first when looking at them in the bag. I don’t think they are needed to replace the speedo lights apart from the one that actually lights it up internally plus they wouldn’t work on the generator light anyway. But they are a considerable improvement on the main beam and indicator light. All I need to do now is get the three little lines on lamps bulb holder lined up horizontally!

Thanks for the info on removing 500 L dash . I found it hard the lift the teo clips but done. I only wanted it out because the red filet had dropped on the ignitin warning light.
