I've just worn my Cinquecento out.
I like small Fiats, but the 500 might be a bit funky for me, and the Panda's a bit socks-and-sandals.
I look a lot like Seasick Steve.

Will I look silly in a grey Fiat 500?

I'm 64 in a month or so's time.
I drove Minis for years, then went on to bland vehicles, and bought our 500 a couple of years ago.

It's put the grin back on my face. :)

I loved my Minis - we had seven of them over the years, and I always grinned when driving them. The 500 has a great similarity with the Mini.

The Fiat 500 gives me a grin, and I always enjoy driving it.

When I've worn this one out, I'll be buying another. (y)

Good luck,
Mick.

Had fiats in the past, 128's, 128 3P's, Superstrada etc. Updated wife's Picanto to 500X 4x4, brilliant...but... Needs a little bit more. More bhp, more panache, less weight, doors, seats, 4x4 running gear......
Modena yellow, yellow brembo's, removed ariel, result!

Well I'm almost 50 and drive the wife's silver 500 as she can't at the moment, there's a certain group type that tends to drive Pandas from my observations it would add 25 years to you should you choose one, I see no reason why you shouldn't drive a 500, originally seen as a typical young girls car the image seems to have moved on.

I'm 63 and I spent the last 20 years driving ST's, GTI's etc and decided it was time for a change. Went for a 500 Lounge Twin Air 105. It's a hoot and although it hasn't got the serious grunt of my previous cars, giving it some welly in 2nd gear just as the turbo is waking up makes me chuckle every time. I'm a right stick-in-the-mud, but I took to the U-Connect stereo and trip computer clobber without a problem. The Fiat has some real style too, the cabin is a nice airy place to be.
Even the tight turning circle makes me grin!

NO you won't
I wouldn't worry I'm 82 and recently bought a Black 1.2 Fiat 500 sport. All my children and grandchildren think its GREAT
Had a Yellow Fiat Cinquecento Sporting when I was 72 fitted a Turbo went like stink beat near everything off the lights until I rolled it a year later !!!
I've had Merc's. Alfa's etc etc in my life you name it.! Even a Fiat Topolino in my twenties
I always say If you like it, want it, buy it and enjoy as long as you an afford it. Small cars are fun.
Regards
Ian

It's interesting how many here are over sixty. Maybe we're just past caring about 'image' and prefer to enjoy our cars for what they are, not what they say about us;).

I've spent a lifetime driving Mazda's and I still love them but none have had the cheeky looks and spirited go of my Twinair - puts a smile on my face every drive.

I have been asked if I'm driving my daughter's car...:)

I brought mine when I retired..knowing full well my kids would moan. " It's too racy, a young persons car etc " I have 3 grandchildren under 8 and they all love going in it ! AND, much as I didn't plan it, I now have an Eriba Puck caravan and will be doing my own thing and going away for weekends as well. Go for it, you won't regret it at all. :)

I'm 50, and after a number of years of Panda ownership, have just bought a 500(y)
As has been said just go out & do it!
The Panda was great to drive & always brought a smile to my face.
The 500 promises more.:slayer:
That may have something to do with going from a 1.1 to a 0.9 (105):)

Thanks everyone for your feedback.
It's the Twinair engine I've fixed on.
Rare in the Panda's, and they've nearly all got white/beige seats (ouch!)
There's a couple of badass colours for the 500, so I'm going to act like a kid :)

You should definitely get one , when I was at Morrisons an elderly lady parked in the space next to us and she was driving a very nice volare blue 500 with tan leather , we were comparing 500's when she told us that she had to start driving again as her husband had died suddenly , he was the one who drove her everywhere and it was the only way to avoid being socially isolated . She said that although it was daunting having to remember how to drive again at 74 she was thoroughly enjoying the independence that the 500 had given her , needless to say this lady's story made my partner burst into tears !

Life is far too short to worry about what other people think , if you like the car then take the plunge and enjoy .

If you can put the 'oo-er, it's a bit girly' thing behind you, you'll be rewarded with a great drive and some neat style. When we were looking to replace our Swift Sport, I wanted something smaller to make best use of the tight parking around here. I found there weren't many small-but-quality cars to be had. There was the 500, the Toyota Aygo (and its sisters) and the Vauxhall Adam. I quite fancied an Adam but I have a lifelong aversion to the Vauxhall brand and anyway they are quite expensive for what you get. The MINI Cooper, with its 3 cylinder turbo appealed to me, but it was too big. The Aygo (and most other small runabouts) lacked performance. So we decided to look at a 500, despite my reservations about the car's image (driven by blonde hairdressers etc). But it looked so damn nice and it drove so well (the Twin Air 105 two cyl turbo is interesting to say the least!) that I decided to go for it. No regrets at all, I love it. You know when you've got a new motor and you look back at it in the car park? That usually wears off after a couple of weeks but I'm still doing it. I'm 63 BTW.
