The 500 by Gucci is launched in Greece having the 1.2 engine as the only option.
The price for the 500 is 17000 euro and 20000 for the 500c.

It's cute and vulgar at the same time! (Vulgar wins lol). :yuck:

In my opinion is just TOO EXPENSIVE!! (+ a bimbo car :p)

I have to admit that when i saw it for the first time i liked it a bit butt i just needed a couple of minutes to realize that it's not a concept car therefore it would be a bad idea driving it around! :bang:

I prefer to save some money to get another Gucci bag than get a Gucci car!

I saw one in Kolonaki the other day! A white one! The first one I saw in Greece! I have to say it looked nice, especially for a girl wearing a gucci handbag anyway! The rims are just amazing! I wouldnt get one as a guy but a girl who wears gucci handbags, why not??

I agree with Chrysa - it would be much cooler to arrive in an immaculate standard 500 and get out with a beautiful Gucci bag and loafers, than arrive in this car.

It is trying too hard - especially with the stripe on the roof.

And a Gucci bag is expensive, yes, but it is made of the very finest materials to the very highest standards. This is made on a Polish production line using the same or similar quality parts but just in different colours and designs.

Having just calculated the Euro/GBP conversion rates, 17,000 Euro for the standard 1.2 model, works out at 14530 GBP. That is double the price I've just paid two months ago for a six month old POP with 800 odd miles on the clock.

You're right, far too expensive. You can pick up used LHD models on the well known auction site in the UK for considerably less than a brand new price in Greece. I suppose though, if you want brand new and unused, then you have to pay for it. Certainly, my own days of buying brand new cars has stopped because the premium connected with it, no longer makes it worth it.

I have already ordered my 1.2 lounge 500 in volare blue with the following specs:

Auto climate control
Skydome
500 side strips
16" spoked alloys
Leather gear gnob

And the end cost is much more less!

That is exactly the problem. It's trying too hard. It's saying "LOOK AT ME!!!!! I'M GUCCI!!!!! FFS LOOK AT ME!!!!!"

A "fashion" accessory should always be there and be visible, but when it's screaming to be seen then it's trying too hard and is ultimately a failure.

You are right but there are many people who liek that style and wear branded clothing. So there is a market for this car and there was no reason for fiat not to produce it. The main thing i like is the leather, the seatbelts, the stripe and the RIMS.

The rims are nice but you can buy those from your parts department.

As for the seats - I think five colours, three logos and a load of different materials would make me dizzy.

I like brands too but i insist that this is just too much! I believe that it will just fail - marketing wise! :p

My local dealership is very cramped and only has space for two 500s in the show room. Both of those spaces are taken up by By Guccis. This would suggest that either:

(i) Fiat are desperate to sell them and have forced their dealers to have them on display (and probably buy and register them too) because no one is buying; or

(ii) they are selling so well that dealers want to promote them and harvest all that lovely profit.

Given that I have never seen one on the road I am thinking it may be (i).

Well considering all the byDiesel's and Matt Black 500's that you see, these special editions obviously do really well for Fiat :ROFLMAO:

Fiat did not do this to make money they are making enough money from the standard fiat 500! They are just doing this to have some fun = ), like most special edition cars!

They have enough money not to worry about how well the Fiat 500 Gucci does, in fact if no one orders they dont build so they really dont lose that much at all = ). In fact i am sure the R&D consisted of some guy at Gucci drawing something on a notepad and then showing it to Fiat! And A few demo cars wont bankrupt them!
A good excuse to have some fun with Gucci!

Thats for sure, never even considered it. Someone i know got the white bnw fiat 500 with chequered seats because that is the one that is available like immediately, so i guess many people get teh standard BNW because they generally have it in stock and dont wait 3 months for it!
This is maybe why most fiats on the road are like this.

Oh come on. Fiat make these special edition cars for fun????? Businesses don't do things for fun. They probably thought that being associated with a brand like Gucci would do them good, rather than just looking tacky as it does

I happen to like the bydiesel. I think it appeals to men.
The Gucci - I would be one of exceptions on here and quite like it :). Although I would probably take the stripe off that goes around the car. I certainly wouldn't pay the premium that they're asking for it and would wait for 2-3 years for the price to 'normalise'.
