Hello everyone don't knew weather could help but i'm pretty sure someone will know and not sure if it's been mentioned before but.

With the CV joint from the propshaft connecting to the transfer/gearbox, as soon as i pull that out with it poo with oil? Which bring me onto is the tranferbox oiled with the gearbox oil also?

Many Thanks, Lewis (y)

Just mark every single part of propshaft in a tamper proof way that all parts can be asembled in exact same order and in-line. That save potential " out of balance" issues.

the most front part of the prop shaft is the first CV joint. i think theres 6x 5mm Allen key bolts that hold it in.
as for the rear diff end, its 4x 13mm bolts with nyloc nuts.
the center will undo with 8x 13mm nuts.

you "can" do it without jacking the car up.. but it makes it so much more easy...

Cheers everyone, Yeah I had seen a few people haven't lined them so they'll be balanced, but i may be senting it off to get refurbed anyway. So far i've just undone the bolts holding the cv and as the rear was abit of a pain but in the end I just slammed it in 4 wheel drive and it popped out. Tomorrow It's the task of lowering it out :slayer:

Hello Everyone, Unfortunly I've yet to fit someone to refurb my propshaft i've looked high and low for all the local places and no such joy :(.

Does anyone know a good place to get one refurbed or does anyone on here offer the services there self's Please! :worship: ? I can sourse the parts if needs be. It defo needs centre bearings, cv's & gaiter's. UJ's Unknown?

Many Thanks, Lewis :bang:

Yes good link in Seb, I'm not checking forum everyday at the mo. I got my prop balanced at a place in Bradford, not sure what or where off the top of my head but I can let you know when I get back home in a few days. They did a good job, they said my UJ's were knackered, I was shocked as I had just replaced them with eBay parts, they replied and said yeah they are cheap Chinese rubbish, they fitted some proper jobs.

Have you tried this place Lewis?

I think they are fairly close to you. As Jacob says changing the bearings etc isn't a hard job aslong as you have a good vice and set of tools, a press makes changing the centre bearings easier but doable without.

Unless you are having vibration issues then you won't need to have it balanced. Just make sure you mark the three shafts before you separate them and all should be good when it goes back together.

I could do it for you, and get it balanced if you wanted, but the distance makes it abit tricky.
