Just a quick one - I'm going to replace all of the front brakes on my 4x4, I have the Haynes but it only covers 2wd models. I've ordered discs, pads and calipers plus a fitting kit.

Anything particularly different that I need to watch out for with it being 4x4 or is it just a case of wheel off, pads out, lift and remove caliper, unbolt disc, refitting is reverse of removal? :)

To remove the disc you will have to remove the caliper carrier.
To remove the caliper carrier you will have to remove strut to hub bottom bolt ( 2x 19 socket) as the 4x4 does have a extra strengthening 90 degrees brace. There is funny double ended bolt there, must use thin wal sockets to get in situ.

Make sure the anti rattle shims or springs are fitted.

ps. how much was remanufactured calliper?
I've got lots of repair kits and old calipers - must make some use of them.

£24.12 each inc VAT, with a £12 surcharge on top until you return the old ones. Supplier is http://brakeparts.co.uk/ - used them before, decent service. In case anyone is interested, pads were £13.58 the set and discs £7.48 each. Fitting kit £3.02. Fiver next day shipping.

If you want to have a stronger brake system, you can use the front brake calipers of Y10 Turbo or Panda Selecta (2WD).

They use also bigger disks (240 mm instead of 227 mm).

Another thing is the "hydraulic system", you could mount the 7" pump system of latest Pandas MPI (2001-2003), instead of original 6" pump.

In this way you get a nice modern brakes. :D :D

Here you find the tutorial with pictures (italian forum) :
