For a moment I thought my old car was back to haunt me but she was originally blue and grey and C562 RKK.

Lovey cars but that has been ruined (in my opinion as I'm six foot two). Could always finish the job and fit a proper cage, cut across the "B" pillar and so all that's left is the windscreen. Make a mini-Jeep. The 965 is the most capable of the 4x4's so with a dramatic weight reduction and some decent tyres it would be unstoppable. ;)

Nice. Odd looking it up on the dvla website doesn't show a model description?? looking at my car seems like they now don't advertise the car model although you are still required to know the manufacturer to do the search. Maybe to stop people cloning vehicles or something.

The vehicle details for C562 RNP are:
Date of Liability 01 10 1995
Date of First Registration 01 11 1985
Year of Manufacture 1985
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 965cc
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type PETROL
Export Marker N
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour GREEN
Vehicle Type Approval Not Available
This vehicle can be licensed at a DVLA Local Office without the V5C Registration Certificate
Vehicle Excise Duty rate for vehicle
6 Months Rate £77.00
12 Months Rate £140.00

Anyway, pretty cool but probably will go for little money as it is a bit specialist. I don't think it is miles off a full restoration, maybe even put a roof back on. No differences between that rear / top roof section between mk1 and mk2 and not an area of the car that rusts badly either so should be easy to source from a dead panda. Personally though I think it is what it is now so probably not worth the effort.

On the topic of the description "Madagascar / Sisley" they did make a mk1 sisley I think and might have been a convertible one so maybe that is what they are getting at? I'll see if I can dig out a photo!

I've been thinking about this car all day. One of two options I'd like to run by you...

1/ Make a proper mini-Jeep. Cut across the roof at the windscreen and integrate it with a proper cage; then make a hood so it looks like a series Land Rover.

2/ Use the 4x4 running gear to make my Cinquecento four wheel drive. With the Webasto roof I could paint safari stripes on the body and drive around the Fens upsetting lampers and hare coursers. ;)

What do you think?

There was a really grotty looking 4x4 conversion done in Poland (can't find the YouTube clip right now) and always thought Fiat should have done a better job of it.

Noooooo to no. 2!! I know it's not original but these are far to rare (please don't make me rescue another one haha). Only 39max of the mk1 4x4 left according to howmanyleft and this is one of the 4 Madagascar's left (even if it is a little modded!).

option 1 sounds better though :D but personally it looks pretty cool as it is. A bit of a tidy up and it's something to show I think.
