Just got a notice from the police saying I was speeding and so now I am getting 3 points, is there a way of buying these back, or do I just have to sit and wait 3 years for them to fall away?
Thanks
Werner

Some places will offer a 'driver training scheme' rather than points, plus a bigger fine. These are the places who are actually concerned with improving road safety rather than generating income.

You will find rather suprisingly that these places are few and far between.

yeah that basically, apparenly mine will put you on it because they'd rather the money but you have to ask.

3 points doesnt hurt though, didnt affect my renewal atall (y) i tried with 6 and it was only a case of £40 (y)

On Saturday 14th July It is the 30th anniversary of passing my driving test !st time,I have had 8 driving tests, all passed 1st time, the original,2 to gain a Police class 3 driving authority,2 more to gain Police class 1( class 3 is for vans, normal patrol cars, class 1 is the traffic cars, nowadays, the green and yellow checked ones,in my day white with a big orange stripe down the side and range Rovers),one to become a driving instructor and one to become a motorway examiner for fleet and insurance purposes. No points in all that time,It helps when all I pay is £425 per year for a grande Punto Sporting and thats to teach in as well, fully comp with legal help, replacement dual controlled car if needed and only £150 excess. It does pay not to have points.
