Technical 2ltr 16v Tipo Water Pump... HELP!

Hi guys

The water pump has gone on my Dads sedici and after going to the garage it turns out the water pump it needs is obsolete...

Part number is 71719674

If we cant find one the car is a write off, any ideas?

Im wondering if we'd be able to tell if a 2nd hand one was the correct item?

What year Sedici is it? I can't imagine the waterpump is obsolete or has not been replaced by a new part. Coupes and Sedicis are having cambelts done all the time with new waterpumps..

The ePer I just looked at said that product code was out of production. Part 71737965 might be a suitable alternative. Your local Fiat dealer will be able to get a replacement.

I don't have my eper with me - so couldn't get you a part number. As he says most parts are replaced with newer numbers. Your Fiat garage should be able to get them without issue.

Hi guys, the fiat dealer have been involved and they cant offer an alternative. Its a 1993 (K reg) sedici valvole. They got all the possible ones it could be in, and offered them up to the engine but none will fit...

Water pumps are a pattern part - for example Halfords supply a water pump for my Tipo variant which is not made by Fiat. So it may be worth trying other stockists. For example GGB in Bradford stock Fiat original and non Fiat pattern parts.

Also try Desira. there is a lad there with a sedici that knows them inside out.

Hi guys. Ive tried desira, they say that going off the chassis number of the car, that particular pump isnt made anymore. The closest one they could find was the one off a coupe, we are going to try and get one of those and see how we get on.

There is a lad on ebay who says he can get me one aswell but I dont want to get one through him... I'd rather he gave me the info.

My advice - keep looking as there will be what you want out there. When i changed the w/p on my Sedici we had to try 4 different pumps before the right match of mounting bracket/pully was found.

Another name to try is L&M in High Wycombe - sorry don't have the number.
