Every time I drive the car now, all the interior windows mist up within 5 minutes! If I turn on the air-con, within minutes all is well again. If I turn it off, back we go to misting. Ive checked everywhere for leaks including windscreen washer tubes etc, Radiator doesnt seem to be losing water via the heater matrix, carpets and boot are dry. Windscreen seals look good n tight. This didnt happen when I first got the car about 4 months ago. Anyone got any suggestions please?

Not the best time of year to check this but with the aircon on, proferably on a humid day, can you see water dripping from underneath the car. If you can't then there is the possibility that the condensed water is not draining away correctly.

The only water leaks I have encountered were:

1) under certain wind and parking inclinations water getting into the car and behind the front carpets. The water was running in *underneath* the windscreen in the lower. If you gently remove the black sponge that sits atop the wing by the the bottom of the winscreen corner then you will be able to see the metal work where the top of the A post, meets the winsceen A pillar and the front skuttle. On my Coupe, on both sides the seams were not properly sealed and then was a visble hole where the three panels met.

2) leaks throught the door seel, both sides, along the back edge of the door where the seat belt runns. Cause of the problem took me a while to find. On the inside of the door around the door handle is a black plasting trim the covers the inside paintwork of the door at this door lower door to upper door/window frame intersection. Water running down the outside back edge of the door and seal would traverse the seal, by way of this plastic trim that crosses the seal, and then run down the inside of the seal, onto the sill trim an ontop the the carpet in the rear foot well. Most noticeable in coller waether as the rubber seal tube is leff flexibly. I remove the black plastic trim totally on both sides and the problem vever occurred again. Looks OK as all is painter behind there altough as small seam frove is visible.

my coupe does this and theres no visable signs of leaking or loss of coolant but when the heaters on does it have any coolant smell if not it may be the skuttle drains are blocked causing water to sitt in the skuttle and drain through the pollen filter into box but i do know these coupes do like to mist up when its raining

The annoying coupé misting can be a result of a number of things such as a leaking heater matrix or poorly fitted windscreen, both of which you have mentioned and disgarded as the culprit.

The most likely culprits would be one or more of the following;

1. Old damp pollen filter, which is easily replaced or chucked out altogether!
2. Loose/poorly fitted door seals (easily checked)
3. Loose/poorly fitted/ damaged boot lide seal (easily checked)
4. Ingress from the side Pininfarina badges (common problem)

To fix the latter culprit, you'll need to remove the rear seats to get at the bolts to remove the rear passenger cards to remove check for water and to remove the badges. If tere's water there, dry it out, check for rust and seal the badges with silicone sealant!

Job done, have a nice cuppa tea and pat yerself on the back ;)

As Daithi28 has said, first thing to check is the pollen filter. It's the most likely culprit if there are no visible leaks. Worth sealing the Pininfarina badges as a matter of course though :)

I was told there wasn't a pollen filter on the Coupe when I changed my oil, fuel and air filters?

My Coupe steams up like hell, I seem to have the heater & rear-demister on permanently. I've got dodgy door seals but never knew the Coupe had a pollen filter...

Is this only on air-con models? My trouble is I'm not sure if I HAVE air-con, car didn't come with a manual and I haven't noticed the button to the right of the 'air circulate' button doing anything (it's just got a dot on it?).

Those anti-misting sprays are crap and cause hideous condensing of liquid down the windows!!

Biggest problem of misting, is caused by the rubber boot seal. Very very common fault on a Coupe. Get this replaced, you will find a big improvement.
Another problem is the end scuttle rain ducts, that get clogged up. Get them cleaned, and run water through them to check they drain ok.
Last. I have seen a number of Coupes, including mine, that leak from the inner front of the door. Check it out. And check what others have mentioned.
Welcome to the crazy world of Coupe ownership!!:)

No, that's just a spare button. If it had aircon it would have a little snowflake symbol on it. Hope that helps.

Do you want a drivers manual for the car? I have a copy as a PDF somewhere which I can email to you if you let me have your email address.

Cheers, Gavin. (y)

P.S. mine also steams up but the climate control does a good job of demisting it in a few seconds. Have to keep doing it, but hey the car's worth it!!
