Hi
New to this game, so here goes. Our new van conversion has 215/75 x 16 Continental Van Contact Camper tyres. On the door pillow it gives tyre pressures of 80psi all round. It's miles too hard on the front. I've emailed Continental who say that for the Max axle weight of 2200kg, which I'm no where near, the pressure should be 58/60 psi
I've lowered the pressures and it drives so much nicer, but, the low tyre pressure symbol and wording is on screen.
How can I alter the TPMS so that it disappears and sets the new parameters.
The dealer says Fiat say 80 so they cannot alter it. Any help appreciated. Thanks

If it's new and you are not happy with it speak to the dealer that sold it to you.

The dealer is full of crap, they don't even know what they are selling. Lazy sales people who never take the time to learn about the various vehicles they sell. Look in your 'owners manual' it will show you how to do it.
All those rats care about is trying to add on extras towards their commissions. Once you leave they won't even remember what you bought, and by the end of day not 3 months down the road.

Good luck to ya.

Note: there is a risk running under inflated, blowout on the motorway. Better to be over then under. Not to mention your fuel economy will suffer.
A blowout means you'll most likely kill yourself and who knows how many around you as well. At your funeral some will wee-wee on your grave. :(

I agree that its probably better to be a bit over than under.
(except when you are stuck on soft ground and reducing the pressure spreads the load)
But we only hear about tyre blowouts when they cause an accident because the vehicle was already being driven to its limits, in a race or whatever.
I have lost count of the number of tyre blowouts I have had on lorries. Including a front tyre blowout on a 38 ton artic whilst travelling in the centre lane of a busy M1 at 60 mph. As far as I know none of these blowouts resulted in anything more serious than minor damage to my own vehicle (mudguard or wheel rim)

I honestly thought on here if get reasonable answers. I've had one telling me to take my van back and the last one the same, but I might kill myself from under inflated tyres.
What a pair of to##ers😡
I've been in touch with the tyre manufacturer who says it needs to tmrun at a lower pressure. All I'm asking is, does anyone know how to reset the TPMS. If you don't keep your stupid comments to yourself. If I get kicked off here I don't care. Just answer the question please

Hi,

The selling dealer should have the answers to your enquiry to hand . If the dealer doesn't have the answer to hand they should offer to look into It and get back to you. The selling dealer should also have an interest in keeping you happy after all these things are not cheap.

Please let us know if you find out how to alter the tpms to your own settings.

Good luck

Jack

Found via a quicke google search,Old thread but shows you are not alone .

You may get an answer posting your tpms question in a motor home forum.
Whilst it is true that the latest version of MultiECUscan has the option to adjust the target pressure for the front and rear axle, it is very likely that a 2024 conversion (dependent on the build date of the original van) will have the OBD port equipped with a SGW (Secure Gateway), which would inhibit any such adjustment by 3rd party tools. (and the same would apply to all the other potential adjustments in any ECU).

Thats probably your only option if it needs Fiat Dealer software to reset it.
In which case you're the to##er :ROFLMAO:
