Following on from the earlier thread, we're going to try and get ourselves a stand at Glamis this year - we've never been but have only heard good things about this!

http://www.svvc.co.uk/extravaganza/

It's £40 for up to 10 cars - any additional vehicles are charged at £4 each. Camping is available, for those travelling, at £10.

So - who's all in. If you could reply with a yay then I can PM in due course to organise moneys & details for the booking form. I've also set this up on facebook so if you've posted there can you let me know so we don't double up!

Cheers,
Martyn

For everyone who has expressed interest in this can you let us know if you intend to be there the whole weekend or just the Saturday or Sunday.

Thanks

Hopefully we'll definitely be there for the Sunday but we need at least 10 cars to make this work and we need to know in advance who will be there as Glamis need the stand info for their brochure. There's still time for this to work....

Get callum to get in contact with the Abarth guys. We may be able to make up the numbers but I doubt it would be a full weekend for many of us.

I had hoped to make it to Edinburgh on Friday to push both SICD and Glamis but work is conspiring against me :(

Callum will be given his orders to do so in my place :D

I'll be there both days. I usually take my cars in on a Friday night that way you can make sure nobody pinches any room in the pitch. Quite happy to help in anyway with things as glamis is the most local show I go to as I just stay about 15 miles from it. Just let me know

Thank you Jim. I should be down sharp on the Saturday morning but it's nice to know there will be someone looking after our space until we get there. We're going to ask to have the events shelter there and take the bbqs along as well

Seeing as there is no sicd, looking forward to this

I'm sort of looking forward to it but there's an awful lot of rules for this one that aren't there for SICD and I'm not sure how rigid they are

Questions for the experts i.e. Peem08 and CraigD

1) Is it going to be a problem if we have different cars on the stand for Saturday and Sunday?
2) How strict are SVVC about knowing the reg of the cars in time for the brochure? - a lot of ours may even wait until the day before deciding to turn up
3) Can we have less than 10 cars on the stand?

And yes I know I should probably email them to ask but as I failed spectacularly last year to get this sorted I'm volunteering Martyn to be the contact person this year and he's his usual busy self

Well as for the cars getting in and out they can come and go on Saturday no problem Sunday is the main day so all cars attending must be on site and parked for no later than 10 o'clock I think but I'll double check. There is no problem with cars not turning up but if anyone interested in going could put the there registrations down in order to be allocated a number so that they can get in as they are quite strict about all cars having a number that ties up with there sheets to organise gift bags and space. Like I say if it turns out someone can't manage that's not a problem but you definitely need to register so we can get a decent plot. If it's any help I could organise to get the entry form and fill it in just let me know as the sooner the better

Thanks Jim, that's all very helpful and reassures me that this is going to be ok. I'll certainly be down for the whole weekend and even *whisper it* camping overnight on the Saturday. I think we'll get most people on the Sunday but I also know of at least one who will only be there on the Saturday.

We will do thanks.

I had a wee brainstorming session with Martyn earlier (well I say me, it was mostly him as I was still ever so slight hungover ) and we're beginning to get things in place for this now. We'll be putting out a request for registration numbers and payment later this week and aim to have the form in by the end of the month at the very latest.

Hi Sorry for the late reply I haven't checked the thread for a while.

To answer your questions.

1. No problem. Just tell them how many cars on each day.
2. Reg Nos don't matter on the day. As long as you give them enough nos. for each day they will issue you a number. All they check on the day is the number, they don't compare it with the no. registered. So if you have more than one car you can register one & turn up in an other.
3. I think you book & pay for a 10 car site then you can have anywhere from 1 to 10 cars.

Thanks Craig, that is incredibly helpful. Life has been getting in the way of us organising this (Martyn is in the process of moving and I've got work/family stuff consuming all of my time) but with that additional knowledge we should be able to get this sorted very shortly.
