It's been a while since I've been on here. Anyways, our 2014 500 Pop at around 65k miles developed a problem where if you manual lock or unlock the car with the key, it will only actuate the drivers door lock; and if you lock and unlock the doors with the drivers door handle on the inside it no longer actuates both door locks. Using the lock and unlock buttons on the Sentry key actuates both locks no problem, and the autoclose function at 15 mph works perfect as well. Also after a drive if you put the car in Park and open the drivers door both doors will unlock, and then will start the problem all over again.

Here's a video of the problem here:

It may be worth disconnecting the plug inside the door jamb, and giving that a good clean. You just raise the collar off the plug, and that will allow it to be eased off the female end. You don't need to remove the collar completely.

Inside there's a million pins... give them a clean with some electrical contact cleaner and an old toothbrush to remove any tarnishing or corrosion. Do both the male and female plugs... but go easy with the pins, in case you bend them. Then put it back together and see whether it's made any difference. It's "easy and free" and it might clean up a pin that does the opening magic.

If not, then it's likely something within the lock mechanism, as John says.

It may not be on the door striker/lock part, since unlocking the door and not opening it doesn't unlock the passenger door, and at that point you haven't touched the door striker/lock.

The back of the key lock will have a lever arm, or cable that goes somewhere though (you'll have to remove the door card for a look)... since turning the key has to act on something to unlock the car. It will be either the striker/lock or it could be a black box that is part of the central locking system (that would be somewhere near the interior handle... but just follow anything that comes out of the back of the exterior door handle and you'll find it).

It's where the mechanical meets the electrical that the problem will be.
