Looking at this my order of two weeks ago ( twin air lounge, bnw, rear parking sensors, climate, red and black leather, front fogs, and 15 inch two tone sports wheels) now comes out £300 cheaper! Do you think I have any hope of the dealer doing it for that price?!

I think that would have been me. While the sports seats are nice the other options like the black wheels with presumably low profile tyres as well as the higher insurance group would not be so good for us. The old 1.2 "sport" model was an odd combination but it would have suited my requirements. Nevermind, the red leather crossover black 1.2 Lounge will just have to do...
Well I've still no idea what I'm paying for my car! The dealer is trying to establish from Fiat whether my order will come with the ACC as standard (as shown now on the website) or as the paid for option I originally specified last Monday (note however that he hasn't put the order on Fiats system yet...).
I'd be interested in opinions though! Should I be pushing for it to go through at the original base price of 12,265 + the ACC at £265, or pay the £12,265 and say it's now showing as standard so include it at no extra cost. Or pay the new price of whatever it is?
Realistically you should pay the new cost.

Indeed. If the order hasn't been placed, you're going to pay the price that's listed at the time of ordering if it's a factory build car. Of course, if it's stock, then the Dealer/Distributor has the right to charge whatever they like..
Even though he's already put the finance bit through a week ago on the original price? They put my order in a tray for someone to put the order in and it seems to have sitting there waiting for a week now!!
Of course, perhaps split the difference 50:50? You are getting climate control extra.....

I just placed my order for my Twin air + in white, apparently I was the 1st person to order one from the dealer. The sales man said it would be about 10 weeks wait but possibly longer as I ordered the sunroof and a few extras. Looking forward to picking it up, it will be my first ever brand new car

Very nice! The new TwinAir range seems to be pretty good value actually.
With regards to facelifts etc, I would be very surprised if FIAT chose to update the Euro 500 with the U.S version's styling. That car was styled very specifically for the U.S market (in my opinion it doesn't look as good); they prefer a sportier look over there.
The previous Mini facelift (the 2004-2006 model) was very mild, in that only the front/rear bumpers, rear headlights and alloys were changed externally. Not a major facelift at all. The 2006 Mini used all new panels, but that was an all-new car. So if FIAT do decide to give the 500 a facelift (not that it needs one by any stretch of the imagination) then I think we can expect it to be very, very subtle indeed.

Initially I was of the same opinion but I have 'changed' to liking the new Sport model and I reckon if it was released it would do very well. Below is a youtube from 'US' Car & Driver and the 2nd reviewer
you would have to take him with a 'pinch of salt'. You can see the bais against Fiat but they kinda liked the 500 but didn't want to admit it. For me personally the MINI shape doesn't have the panache of the 500 despite being shy 20bhp and I reckon it could easily keep up those wet roads. Ironic how the MINI was the one in white - the yellow looked good on the 500. And no mention as to how much cheaper the 500 is than the MINI. mister500

I often think there's too much bias towards Mini... Autocar were the same when the 500 came out. Yet magazines like Top Gear and Auto Express seem to prefer it. I like the initial 'New Mini' but feel they messed up a bit with the second-gen model (the current one). I don't think FIAT would make that mistake - I think they've learnt from the hash they made of the Mk2 Punto's facelift in 2003! And the Multipla's facelift!...

In the US the Pop and the Lounge is the retro shape whilst the one in the above clip is the Sport shape with the Abarthy kit. There was a thread from a US FF member and if she could have got the half leather sports seats in the retro shape with the 'less masculine' alloy wheels she would have gone for it - essentially our 500 retro 'old' Sport model - she wasn't too pushed about the white ambiance. The Twin air and Twin Air plus models with the sports seats in half leatherette in the retro shape might become a limited model if the US Sport model comes into Europe in 2012. I cann't see room for both in the '500 range'.
