New to the forum but have 2 simple questions.
Have recently purchased a 2007 Ducato 100 Multijet swb with v low mileage. Should there be an engine cover that protects the wiring to the injectors? The handbook shows a drawing of the engine under the bonnet but I cannot tell whether I am missing a cover. There are 2 threaded holes that appear to be doing nothing so I assume that a cover has vibrated loose and come off.
Can somebody advise?
Secondly, the reason I looked under the bonnet yesterday was that the warning light for the injectors/ignition system has come on and stays on when the engine is running. There is a loss of power and more emissions than normal. Could this be an injector failure that is linked to the water ingress problems of this range of vans? I tried to fix this today with clear silicon sealant but will wait for the next downpour which shouls be any minute now!
I live over an hour and a half from my nearest FIAT dealer and would like to be clued up with some facts/ideas before ringing them.
