both sides are the same the whole dash doesnt have to come out just the glovebox off memory i remove the ball joint and driveshaft as well then unbolt the hub from the strut assembly then with a bit of a wriggle the unit should come out
Yep, you were right, glovebox off. I've the whole lot off and sitting on the garage floor. The lower ball joint needed to be replaced and I broke the tie rod end getting the nut off, add that to the seized caliper slider and I've a bit of work to take care of.
The top nut on the shock looks to be a pain to get off. Air gun?
According to elearn you remove the glove box on passenger side and the panel which includes the fuse cover on the driver side. You can then access the bolts.
After much head scratching and temptation to get the consaw, I worked out how to get the top nut off the shock. It was simple really, just clamp the top mount in the vice and take the nut off with a 21mm socket and 2ft breaker bar.
