hello , yes im new! just bought a smashed up stilo estate & rebuilt it , all ok went to garage for a service & now sometimes wont start & other problem is ive just bought a 03 reg punto 1.2 8v & done a load of engine work to it , head gasket waterpump , new manifold & injectors but when i crank it over the new belt slowly wonders of the cam sproket!!!! checked everything a million times & cant figure out why!!! any feedback would be greatly appreciated , cheers!

"sometimes won't start" -- when it doesn't start, check for spark (when cranked) and fuel soaked and stinky plugs. Assuming petrol engine, but, if neither, TDC sensor.

Wanders completely off? It's not uncommon for them to wander a little and then re-align themselves. Anything else points to over-tight belt, knackered tensioner, worn or oily pulleys.

New injectors? Why?

stilo is 1.9jtd , replaced front end pannels bumper lights wing ect , no damage to engine , but it was sat for 6 months! when i finished it & fired it up it was slow to rev up & kicked out loads of soot @3k revs , went into garage & had a stuck egr sorted & now runs fine , but when at the garage sometimes it would just crank but not fire , this happend for 2 days then on the 3rd day it fired up first turn! mechanic recond a immobiliser problem , ecu , key chip ect , as for the punto , belt went back on & i left cam cover off while i cranked it the first few times to make sure oil was gettinmg to the head & niticed belt getting closer & closer to the edge or cam sprocket , always stopped cranking when it got halfway off! , crank cog hasnt been touched , cam cog is nice & tight to head (wasnt taken off anyways ) new water pump went back on flush & tentioner seemd ok , last bloke who had it cooked the h/g & melted inlet so replaced that & got some newer injectors
