Hi All,
Just bought a a great camper 2008 multi jet 2.3 ..
Very good condition and went over it till was happy to buy it.
Driving back from south of France noticed although heat was present the blower speed 123 and 4 made no noise or extra heat through vents.. I suspected a cable but having a quick read I'm hearing resistor problems ?
Can anyone advise me if this is true or any other pointers,
Thank you in advance to any help.
Regards Wayne

The resistor pack is bypassed on the high speed setting so it looks unlikely to be that. More likely to be the relay or fuse in the engine fusebox or the switch itself.
The positive voltage to the blower motor is fed via the fuse and relay. The relay is energised when the ignition is on.
The negative voltage to the heater blower motor is fed via the switch and resistor pack except in te high speed position when the resistor pack is bypassed.

First try and reseat the plug in the resistor pack as they can suffer from corroded pins and not connect properly.

Evening,
Thank you for taking the time to reply. I have a bit of time tomorrow so will take a look and report asap.
Thanks Wayne

Hi everyone...
Checked fuse ok.. Checked relays by swopping.. Still no joy.
I will have a look at switch tonight see how easy it is to get out.
Thanks
Wayne

Why not start with some easy meter checks?

1. With the ignition off and the speed switch set to 4 is there continuity between the blower motor negative connection and chassis.
2. Is 12v+ getting to the blower motor when the ignition is on and with the negative meter lead connected to a chassis point?

Thanks Ray.
I do not own a meter.. I was really hoping the relay or fuse was the culprit...
I will have a look tomorrow if not down to Fiat me thinks...

If it were me I would use a mobile auto electrician. Show him the circuit I gave earlier and I am sure he can say where the problem lies.
A simple test you could do is with a bit of wire connect the negative of the blower motor to chassis with the ignition on. It should run at full speed.
If not suspect the positive supply via the fuse and relay.

Hi Ray,
Thanks again.. Do you know what colour the negative on the blower is and where am I looking behind dash ? .. Sorry for dumb questions.. Looked at diagram could not make out what I needed to see.
I am on the lookout for auto spark ... I am in France so may make it a tad more interesting.
Cheers Wayne

The motor is item N085 in the drawing. There is a 2 pin plug. N is negative [Nero in italian = Black] and A is positive [Arancione in italian = Orange].
Stand outside the passenger door and look up the side of the centre glove box and you should be able to see it.
