Hi Guys!

Im new to the Fiat forum and looking for some advice and to get good honest opinions from the people in the know.

I will be trading my 'Mazda 3 2.0l petrol sport' in shortly and replacing it with a Fiat Bravo however I cant decide which one to chose...plzzz help!!

Its between two:

1. 1.4 T-Jet (150) Sport - Black - 25000mls
2. 2.0 Multijet (165) Sport - Deep Red - 32000 mls

I have previously owned a 1.4 T-Jet 120 and loved it.

Any opinions would be welcome.......Thanks

Cheers for the replies guys.

To the 1.4 t-jet 150 owners, whats the MPG like? I dont really like to go on figures provided by the manufacturer, rarely ever correct!

Cheers :)

mjet ;) there good around town too but will need a good run from time to time :)

Agree, I don't do many miles in my 2.0 mjet (12k per year) however give it a good run at the weekend and it goes like a dream. It's very refined so sometimes can hardly tell its diesel. Average around 44-45mpg round town but can get 53-54mpg on a long run at a sensible speed. Plus the mjet is fractionally quicker and faster ;)

Better quality fuels can reduce engine noise, especially diesel clatter.

And why would supermarket fuel be any worse quality than any other fuel?

My god, I am amazed how many people bring this old chestnut out, its completely ridiculous.

in your opinion...

plenty of other people do believe there is a significant difference, furthermore independant testing reveals different mpg (y)

Excellent, now point me at this "independent" testing.

Its all junk, supermarket fuels all come out the same refineries from the same cracked oil as the so called "Premium" brands. If you understood advertising you would see that the big oil companies are quite good at getting people believing the same product is better just because its from them.

There is no difference between supermarket petrol and large oil company petrol, there are no additives in existence that can change the laws of physics so much that you are going to see any difference.

It really bugs me when people are taken in by this advertising nonsense!

All fuel sold at any station complies to british standards (or is meant to anyway). Different companies/brands add a different mixture of additives to their fuels. Take Shell V-Power for example or just regular Shell fuel, much better stuff than Asda fuel.

It's like comparing mineral water to tap water... same thing but a different quality and composition. That's the way I view it anyway.

Many of the forums and sites you look at on this topic seem to suggest branded fuels are better in the majority of peoples opinion.

Remember this...

My 165T runs smoothly and quietly and I always use Shell or Esso Diesel, hardly any clatter at all. I once as a last resort used Asda diesel and it sounded like a bag of nails caught in a lawnmower (similar sound to a VW 8v 1.9TDI) and didn't give as good economy. Enough proof for me, especially when my local Shell is closer and the same price or cheaper than supermarkets.
