OOPS!!!
Sorry, I ment that sou should check fisrt the
starter motor (not the dynamo), in case it's gone bad, and won't give you any power at all.
The alternator (I suppose this is the dynamo, which is near the water pump), may be the reason why you have no power, only if it went out of order while you were driving the car, and as a result you got an empty battery.
As far as I know, not getting any spark may have to do with:
-The condition of the spark plugs
-The condition of the wires that connect the spark plugs with the distributor
-The distributor (the interior part that is rotating may need replacement, or oil is leaking from the eccentric cam to the distributor - in that case you need to replace a very small gasket, and the whole interior needs cleaning)
-The "coil". (I mean that part that is connected with the distributor cap with a separate wire, similar to the ones that connect the distributor cap with the spark plugs) {
I name it "the coil", because it looks like the coils you find inside AC/DC adaptors
}
If no electricity goes through this, it is very likely that you will not get no spark at all.
-The condition of the wires that connect the battery with the starter system
-The starter motor itself.
Also, if the wires that connect to the battery are not tightly screwed to the battery poles (pins), you may also not be able to start your engine.
Unfortunately, I haven't thought of anything else by now...
By the way, what is the exact symptom? Is it that you turn the key on, and you hear no sound, apart from some relays, or that you hear a single certain "choke" sound from the motor itself, and then nothing? Is it that the starter motor works, and you hear the crankshaft rotating, but the engine won't turn on? If you could please describe me what exactly you hear, I might get to find out what it is, because I have had several problems with starting my engine in the past...
Good Luck!
