Hi everyone!
I have done something pretty crazy and bought a 1971 Fiat 500 (based in London UK) the car is unassembled because it was mid restoration. I have 0 experience in mechanics, but I'd like to attempt to do as much as I can myself. The car came with 3 engines (no idea if any of them works) a fairly rusty shell and a number of new spare parts. A new car floor has already been welded in.
I have no idea were to start... Any suggestions or encouragement would be much appreciated...

Welcome! I have also got a 1971 500 (an L). I couldn't help you with specifics (though I have done a few mods and upgrades to my car) but there are plenty of people on here with lots of great experience, and they will likely be able to chip in. There are quite a few other owners in and around London who might be able to offer advice and potentially hands-on help.

As well as this great forum, there are two national Fiat 500 clubs that I know of - I belong to the Fiat 500 Enthusiasts' Club - and quite a few more local clubs and groups, so it could be good to join one or more of those.

There are also lots of Fiat 500-friendly events, particularly in the Spring and Summer, so they might whet your appetite. A major one coming up is the Auto Italia Italian car day at Brooklands on 3rd May. I think the Fiat Forum has a pitch and there will be a section for Fiat 500s too.

Good luck and don't forget to post your progress on the forum :)

Thank you! Definitely going to the brookland Italian day!
I always loved cars and engineering but growing up in Italy it wasn't encouraged back in the days, now in my middle age I feel I can finally learn the skills I wanted to learn as a teenager 😜
