I just picked up this old gal any idea about what it’s worth? No rust true barn find. The good old ran when I parked it. Interior is good shape just needs a good cleaning gas drained new battery and I’ll see if I can get her running. I’m new to these cars just want to get an idea of a value of it.

No idea on value... but the 1100 was produced under licence as the Hindustan Ambassador, in India for decades.. so if you need any parts you can search there.

Thanks for your reply I’ll get better pics when I pull it out of the barn this weekend. Are they pretty rare?

The 1100's were built from 1953 until 1966, but yours looks like a late model "1100 D" since it has the square nose and front indicators rather than the pervious round ones, so it's a 1962-66 vintage.

It should have a 1221cc engine (a mighty 39 or 42bhp depending on its type) and 4-speed manual gearbox.

Yours dates from 1962-66. It's not going to be worth a fortune, since they were utilitarian family cars and nobody is ever going to be lusting after one.. but it's valuable as a survivor 60 year old motor, and most people alive will never have seen one. That would make me look after it.

I got it wrong about the Indian version.. I was thinking of the similar looking Austin Oxford. The Fiat 1100 was called the Premier Padmini (or Ambassador).. made by Premier Automobiles Ltd (PAL) and assembled from locally sourced parts. So some parts could be still available there and might even fit/be made to fit the original Fiat model in absence of Fiat parts.

My dad used to have a "1500" when I was a kid.. so it's great to see this one. 1500 was the next size up car but a lot of the details are very similar;
  • The egg crate grille and the white indicator lenses
  • Chrome quarter lights - I recall 1500 had little buttons to unlock the lever but I can't be sure.
  • The red vinyl seats.. those are separate front seats but we used it like a bench seat when I was 4 or 5.
  • The strip speedo.. flourescent orange, as I recall.. with the warning lights beneath. 1500 had a light for "Normal" too... no idea what that means. :)
  • The Motorola radio is original. 1500 had chrome buttons but I'd forgotten the 5-4 (?) 6 - 7- 8 - 9 - 11 - 14 - 16 station tuning marks. 🥲
  • 4 - speed, change on the steering column.
  • Radiator cap FIAT .. Serrare forte ("tighten strongly") and "Lentamente" ("gently") to unscrew... looks original.

Superb!
