hi all, i really like ronal turbo wheels :) however i can only seem to find them in a 15" is it possible to fit these onto a seicento.. the car is already lowered so dont worry about that bit :) but with 15" on will the car actually sit higher?? i will obviously put lower profile tyres on to reduce the inch of the wheel to the tyre size as i would be going from a 13 to a 15..

Im guessing theres some mods to be done to the arches.. if anyone could set me straight would be great :)

just forget it honestly

if its the ones on the classified (15x7 ET37) are the ones you are going on about then well there is a very very slim change you will get them on without modification if any

that has all the info you need

15" on lowered cars wont go well

dont forget your sei (assuming its for your car) is only the 899 so it will become more alot more slugish then it already is/was

in short just stay with 13" wheels on the 899 imho

For reference you can get tyres that match the rolling circumference of the original 13s/14s when you fit 15s so the car will sit exactly as it should (or you expect) however anything over 6" wide rims is going to start causing problems. I have 15x7s and it is a majorly tight fit even with the rear arches rolled (it would be better without the side skirts and the front liners removed. I can't run the car lowered any more than the Sporting is to start with and I wouldn't anyway.

I also keep a set of original 14s... just in case.

Got to agree with the above though - don't bother putting them on a standard car. The fatter tyres will soak up a lot of power and make the steering heavy. In short - taking all the fun out of the car.

I know il probably get moaned at for this, but after previous experience fit some ronals with 165/50/15 tyres...

Will be stretched, and should clear all arch problems...

People are weary about stretch tyres, but go with some bridgestone potenza tyres and you will be fine as these stick like sh*t to a trainer....

Avoid using nakang (however thats spelt)... their known on the VW scene as ditch finders, as they handle very poorly...

Ive had experience with the bridgestones, on a 100mm dropped lupo, and a clio dci on coilovers, about 80-100mm drop... Neither scrubbed, and both were given stick around corners!! (as you can see with the clio, the 165s make the wheels look very small)

Im sure there are similar wheels in a 14" if your scared of stretch....

Oh and just to add, 15s with 165's are the same size as 14s with standard tyres, if not a little smaller radius... Ive had the two sat next to each other (vw wheels are 14s standard)

(oh and btw.. i didnt like my carbon bonnet either lol)

195/45/14s should give about the same rolling radius as the 13s. I like Uniroyal Rainsport in that size. Car will feel a bit more sluggish 'cos of the width. Corrected et at the front should be close to 27mm. Then lower it, fit punto GT front brakes.

Only high boost turbos and 1.4s can really use 15" wheels.

My Cinq on standard 165 55 13, at the correct pressure consistently over reads by 10%, verified by a speed app on two GPS-enabled phones and those "your speed" signs.

Therefore, if you add that 3.7% on to the 'real speed'...

At an indicated 30mph, 13s are doing 27 and 14s (195/45) would be doing 28
Indicated 40, 13s are doing 36 and 14s 37.3
Indicated 50, 13s are doing 45 and 14s 46.6
etc.

So yeah, more sluggish but really you're not at any higher risk of getting a ticket if you stick to the limits as indicated by the speedometer. iirc arc is running 195/45 on 14s, ask how many points he has ;)
