Hi people,
I recently acquired a 1974 128 sedan. Mechanically it is as stock as the day it left the factory or at least seems to be. Amongst the spare parts that came with the car is a complete running engine which was pulled from another 128 sedan. I'm not sure which engine it is however. It has the twin port (4 into 2) exhaust manifold and 2 into 1 engine pipe as well as the larger 32 DMTR weber. I cant find any mention of the displacement cast into the block but I do have the following numbers.
Where the stock motor has 128A FIAT cast into the block, the spare has 128A.1 FIAT. The number above this is ?321056. ? looks like it might be a 4.
There is another number cast into the head:
128AR
4322347
Any ideas on what I'm dealing with here? I'm currently swapping the exhaust and bigger weber onto the 1100 that is in the car but if it turns out the spare is 1300 I'll look at doing some work to it and putting that one in the car instead. Thanks in advance!
