Hi there all. :) so my ancient and hard working multipla 105 jtd has a injector light on. It also had no throttle. I replaced the actuator which brought back only A THIRD of the throttle HOWEVER it now smokes also. Its got a new air filter, fresh oil last month, and EGR is blanked off. I am totally confused! help me Obi Wan!!:what:

Ok so this morning I started the old multi and yes yhick blue smoke. I ean her hard up yhe dual carriageway for yhree miles and it subsided. Power came back also? However the injector light comes on and off sporadically. I've run the old girl all day and she seems ok except for the sporadic injector light. Bear in mind ive got a egr blanking plate fitted would this cause the light coming on or is there something else? Any ideas peeps? All welcome!:rolleyes:

Tried giving it a good strong dose of injector cleaner?

That said, blue smoke sounds like you're burning oil. Has the turbo been messed around with recently?

Hi wide mouth frog. Thanks for reply. No turbo has been left alone. Now today we have a clear exhaust. No smoking. Car ran great however the injector light came on and off randomly. Eventually at the end of the day there was a sudden and dramatic cut of power and the injector light came on. Then after half a mile the power returned for a minute yhrn cut right down again. The egr is still blanked. Could it be a pump? A sensor? I have had the potentiometer replaced. Would ghat interfere with the computer? However this symptom was around before the potentiometer failed. I may be hearing ghings but the engine does sound a touch clacky at times. Mind you that could be me? Lol! The mystery continues.:thumbup:

Ok so I've been running yhe old bus. The injector light comes on and goes off from time to time and the engine Power also comes and goes. Sometimes partial loss of power and sometimes dramatic.
Ive drained the fuel filter in case of water in the system. One friendly diesel owner asked if the butterfly in the injector could be sticking? Any ideas?

So I have now changed the fuel filter. The injector light came on after two days. When the injector light comes on there is a slight dip in power before hand. I am also going to investigate the wire mentioned recently however I was wondering if anyone has any experience with a fuel pump failure and what behaviour it gave to their jtd? Still searching for answers. Lol. :banghead:;)

Hi again WMT. I forgot to reply to your message. Yes I am regularly putting in a bottle of injector cleaner every two or three tanks. I run on bio diesel so its good idea to do that anyway. I did try running on regular diesel for a month but I'm still getting the same problem so its not the fuel. :screwy:
