General 1.9 multijet idea

Hi all

Fiat idea 1.9 multijet on an 06 plate, problem is when you drive the car and are in third gear and rev it to about 2500 to 3000 rpm the engine management light comes on and the car goes into limp mode, does not do it in any other gears.
If you switch the engine off and restart the engine it will drive normally in all gears but engine management light stays on.
Have took it to local fiat garage and they are saying it needs a new turbo, the car only has 26000 miles on the clock with full fiat service history.
Garage has changed one sensor but no difference.
Car is not mine it`s my mother inlaws so not sure which sensor has been changed.

Car mainly does town driving, my thoughts are possible dfp blocked on the exhaust

Any thought on what could be wrong

You could check all the rubber hoses from the turbo to see if any are split, seems to be quite a common problem on turbo vehicles.
