General 1.9 Diesel engine "safe" when cam belt snaps??

Hiya.
Does anyone know wether or not the 1.9 JTD Diesel engine on a Fiat Multipla is "Safe" if the Cam belt snaps or does it involve expensive valve replacement??

Please don't leave it until 72k.. For the price of the job get it done at 60k or before! Also take into account the age of the belt, as they should be replaced every 5/6 years.

It's not a mega expencive job. You should be looking at around £250 which should include new tensioners and a new water pump. Its not always neccessary but you'll be kicking yourself if it starts leaking and they have to replace the cam belt.
