Hello there,

Fitted some upgrades:

- EBC GD Sport Disks + Yellowstuff pads on the front
- TRW pads on OEM disks on the rear


I also found a set of Bilstein B8 + Pro kit springs from an Alfa Mito, however they show up as a different part number on the official page. I always thought the GP and Mito run the same suspension.

H&R sells the same springs for both Mito and GP
Koni sells the same shocks for both Mito and GP

Eibach does not sell the same springs for both Mito and GP
Bilstein does not sell the same shocks for both Mito and GP

Thing is, what is Bilstein B8 for the GP, comes up as Bilstein B6 for the Mito...wtf

Anybody got any info on this?

WOW MAN! I've just fallen across this thread and I'm super impressed! 250bhp from a 1.4 is INSANE! I'm a wannabe T-Jet owner. Can I ask a question? Driving normally, (if you can ) what sort of fuel economy are you getting?

Just spent the last hour reading through this thread in amazement and saw your 100-200 kph video, and I thought my Dads Alfa Romeo Brera was fast! Jaysus.

It's still hovering around 225-230hp, too busy to fit all the upgrades, but there will be a post soon

Round town I get 31-35 mpg with normal driving. Highway is mid 40's.

Since where I live, parts are not widely available and Forge products are expensive for what they are, I decided to manufacture replica subframe braces

Used a 8mm thick steel bar, 4cm wide for both the front and rear brace

I've put them on for a try, there is a noticeable improvement in handling - much more direct, more planted and steering seems heavier.

I will sand blast them, prep and paint in a silver color when I get the time, just like the original. Might even replicate the Forge stickers haha. Only difference is, I could not find Stainless steel, so used normal steel.

Forge - over 100 eur.

Replica so far - 3.73 eur. Yes, steel is cheap. And I like hand made things.

Some updates:

- Bosch 380cc injectors
- NA cams
- Tubular exhaust manifold
- AEM 320lph fuel pump
- AEM Wideband lambda
- Dyno tune

I managed to get a little over 240hp on a very tight Dimsport dyno, however it turns out the cams have some uneven wear on the lobes and I am missing some 20-ish hp! So I will have to investigate there and correct that, maybe buy another set (Would be nice if you guys can help out) or regrind / Colombo Bariani route.

hi mate, i found a pair of cams like yours, 1.2 16v mk1 for my abarth grande punto 155 hp with: td04L 380cc inj, 63mm full exhaust, bigger intercooler, etc etc. the cams are plug & play? i must do some modifications to fit? i ear i must use the 1.2 16v pulley on the intake cam, because with the 1.4 pulley i can ear some noises after the fitting..

Hi,

Yes you must use the NA pulley because the Turbo Pulley doesn't fit - one of them had a larger bore at the center (I don't remember which one) so you must use the correct pulley

Check the camshafts for wear at a cam specialist before fitting them. I managed to get bad cams and down on power, now I sent the T-Jet 155 cams for a regrind, should be allright afterwards

I mounted the cams 1.2 16v mk1, but I have a problem, I have a pressure drop both in normal and in sport modes of 0.4bar.
before the change of the cams I had: sport 1.4bar normal 1.0bar , now I have: sport 1.0-1.1bar normal 0.5-0.6bar, what could have happened? is a software problem? I have to re-edit the ECU? or is there some other kind of problem?
the cams seems to don't have wear problems, and the engine seems to be in phase, thank you

Did you ever get the vibrations sorted? Recently had a similar problem and it ended up being the exhaust hitting a structural bar underneath the car when under load. Simple bend of the bar to clear the exhaust and haven't had the problem since!

Yes mate, because you now have camshafts that have higher lift/duration values on both the intake and exhaust, as well as higher overlap values (by 2 deg), apart from letting in more air to go in and out of the engine, you also do two other things:

1) You drop the compression in the cylinder itself, cos of the cam profiles (Do not mistake this for actual CR, CR doesn't change)

2) You are making the car run lean.


Always re-tune after every hardware change! Please don't risk ruining the engine by running it lean.

Custom made Forge replicas sorted the bending brace problem, and the occasional vibrations


I got the cams back from the regrind work, it's a custom one-off profile which is somewhere in between the C&B Road Med and Road Max profiles (Closer to Road Med actually)
