was on my drive home 2night and decided to keep my foot down in 4 th gear on the moterway and give it a good rev but it did not seem to want to rev higher than 4000 in 4th gear it did really slowly start to move up after a while but would go no where near 5000 before i got fed up and changed to 5th is this normal for this engine it does not seem to have a problem in any gear lower than 4th or is this just a case of small engine heavy car ?

it should easily get above that in 4th. though i'm not familiar with this car, but i'd be very surprised if that's normal

i've never had a problem, so i would say take it back to the dealer!!
is it a star jet?
they come with a limiter equipped, when the car senses you are over-revving it stops power to the wheels, i was reading my manual thother day because i was bored haha.
altho i have no problems whackin it up to 5 or 6000 rpm in 4th so not too sure!

with engine at idle un plug the wire to the variable cam timing solenoid, car should then run rough, if not that bits it up the creak
