hi everybody i am kinda' new here and i am hoping to find an answer fast i am already working for 3 days now to my car..:(.
so :
I replaced the clutch to my car , i took out the engine and change the clutch (some said that it was easier with the gearbox removed and the engine in his place...any way). All was perfect nothing broken , not a screw left:) .the only incident was that the oil from the servo direction fall down allover by mistake.
Now the car is not starting. No spark on sparkplugs. The engine is trying but is not starting.
The injection light is on in the car.
the car is pretty far from me , i left it there , i will try today to clean all the contact from sensors ( i thing the problem is one of the sensors) and that's all i do not have any ideas.
any idea? maybe something similar happened to somebody.
thx.

Hello Welcome to the forum

If there is no fuel flowing aswell then it is probably a crank sensor fault.

The injection light being on means a garage could read the ECU for stored errors and give a definate answer to the problem

Does the key code light go out normaly?

yes the key code goes out normally.
all ok except light from injectors

Injector light means that ECU "knows" the fault. The best way is to connect car with fiat/alfa tester or fault code reader.

Hello, I also have a Brava 1.4 12v, and have had this type of problem. When having the injector light on, it is adviseable to check the whole injector system, that is; the injector itself, wiring from the ecu to the injector.

If not successful, check the wiring to the coil, and at last there's a sensor responsible to activate or send pulse to the spark plugs, check that this sensor is properly connected.

Try to check if the fuel cutoff has been activated, I don't think so, but if it is, there's a switch located under the left/driver seat.

my car is still in the same situation.:bang:
i went to a car garage and they said that the ecu is not responding(they cannot read it with diag software) , but they can not be 100% can be a fault on wiring, really pro..:).
so the car is in my back yard and i am doing my best to wake her up".

i cleaned the crank sensor, all in order but in the same "no start"position.

my big question mark is : why i don't have a spark ?

the injection light is on all the time all others are going out normally.

One more question : How can i test/see/check if my ecu is broken?
i tried the emergency start sequence and the ignition light is responding as the instructions said.i didn't finish the this procedure, i just wanted to see if there is any response from ecu.

yesterday i checked all the sensors and all the voltages in ecu connector and sensors.seems to be ok everything but still ...NO START.
the engine is turning but no spark in spark plugs...so no running engine.
today i will check all the cables around the engine.

first thing in the morning i'll do it.
i'll be back with feedback:)

my conclusion after 4 days with my car in 2 garages:

how many years you get for killing a german mechanic?
how it's possible to go in a Fiat service ...sorry not one...two fiat services , and the answer you receive is : sorry , but we don't know what's wrong with your car, you can change the ecu , that can be the problem .CAN BE c'mon you are a fiat mechanic not a conga dancer.

my car is in this situation:

-one of the garages read the ecu and all ok , except a lamda sonde error but they erased it.
-i can start the car only with the electronic code.
-my code key light is never on not even when i put ignition on.(this light was never on).i checked the bulb and it's ok.
-i think the problem is key programming but how can i reprogram the keys without that light because i need it in the programming sequence
- i changed the immobilizer and the sensor.

out out out out out out out out out of ideas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the last mechanic said that they are not paired...i mean the immobiliser and ecu work together but not in pair. That's what he says.
now on the car i have another immobiliser from a brava 1.6 16v(mine is 1.4 12v) but is acting like the old one.
i think the main problem to the car, from what i read this days, is that the ecu is not recognizing my keys.
as i asked before...is there any possibility to program the keys without the CODE light ? because my code light never worked and i dont know why, the bulb is ok.

Some people can remove the immobiliser checks from the ECU but obviously you will not have an immobiliser. I dont know how this is done.

The immobiliser unit you bought from a 1.6 will be useless to you. Your ECU will not recognise the 1.6 Immobiliser because they are not a matched pair.

You need to get a paired/matched ECU and immobiliser and keys from the same 1.4 12v

Fit the ECU and immobiliser to your car. Then get a key coder to copy the new key codes to your old keys. Or change all the locks to match your new keys.

well.....am in the same situation..grrrrrrrrrrrrr
i searched a lot and i found a clue: there are 2 fuses of 7.5A one for immobiliser and one for injection(or smth like this) anyway both of them are connected to the immobiliser.I am looking for them for 2 days now and i could not find them .can someone help me?
my car is fiat brava 1.4 12v 1998

the exact name is :

7.5A fuse protecting ignition switch
7.5A fuse protecting Fiat-CODE/electorinic fuel injection

can someone help me with location of these fuses??
