I have been told that the lowering springs for Brava 1.4/1.6/1.8/etc will also fit a 1.2. Is this true? Also, will it be ok to drop 55mm without any rubbing on 17" wheels at 7.5" wide, tyres are 205-40-17? I hear if you drop too much you are in danger of cracking the sump and causing major engine damage?
How much do you think it will cost to have the springs fitted? http://www.TopGear.co.uk (have a garage in Burnley) are selling some for £69 and can fit them but I haven't asked for a quote yet - just wondering in what region the amount of cash will be that I have to find behind the sofa.
Last 2 questions - the springs @ £69 are Jamex springs (55mm drop) - there are also some Spax ones at £98.99 (60mm drop). Any good/bad experience of these manufacturers? Do you think it is worth the extra £30 for the Spax ones?
Thanks,
Stephen
