hi am i right in understandign a 1.2 bravo is excellent for motorway use and also city use?

compared to a focus 1.4 or soemthing?

is the lower engine always much better then a bigger engine for both motorway and city use??

will i get more mpg gettign a bigger engine and driving on motorway>>

please advise

A smaller engine will have to be worked harder to produce the same effect on a motorway, but generally it will still return better mpg than a bigger one.

If you do a mix of motorway and city driving and want good mpg and diesel is probably best.

Good mpg generally, with lots of torque for motorway and low revs at high speed cruising - ideal.

i cant compare the 1.2 to the focus as ive never driven a 1.4 focus

what i can say is that my 1.2 is more than happy on the motoorway or fast a roads and thast on the short ratio'd punto gear box, as the guys in the brooklands convoy will agree, we were happily munching the miles up at a rather healthy average speed of 100 leptons with me in the lead

ive driven all over the country in my 1.2 and she just keeps coming back for more. if your too enthusiastic then it can munch gear boxes, and the punto gear box isnt great for the fuel comsumption due to the higher engine speeds for actual car speeds due to gearing, but on the standard bravo box they are quite happy either on the motorway or in town

on the punto gear box i have managed 400 miles from a tank (50 litres) and 200 of those had a 1600 engine, gear box and a few other bits lumped in the boot...

aye yours is dan, but youve got the later 1.2 where as mies first of the line, and also i think i probably abuse patch alot more than you do bravobeastie...

i would got for the gt... but with the way my insurance is now pn patch after the crash ive got to stick with things as is until i can get my ncb back... loosing 4 years 10 months hits the pocket hard! 2 months until i was protected aswell :(

edited to say: im being a **** and thought you meant gt in patch rather than track toy... i want na for the track atm... got my eye on a couple of potential bargins on pistonheads... but dont have the cash to buy atm... so will see what happens, but it wont be too conventional ;)
