My Stilo is going having its gearbox stripped down on friday due to a suspected faulty synchro (thank god 3rd year warranty!)

What do I need to ask the dealer to turn the flashing hazards on when using the locking, the last time it was in and I asked they didnt know

You serious about proof of owner ship? Is examiner the only way, and how much should it cost? Is there a field remedy out for this? I have been thinking about having this done. Why was it not as standard? Just about every other car make does it? Weird

I don't understand why you have to pay to have it changed???
It should be something they should offer people; do you want the flashing or not?
Luckily mine did it from the factory, although i don't think my local fiat dealer would mind changing it for free, it should take them less than 2 min. with the examiner.

Yep you need examiner to basically instruct the body computer to pulse the indicators.This can be done via active diagnosis but requires code(via ISR)to be entered,other models are done by reprogramming remote(s) then the enable/disable option becomes available.

Mine does it... is useful as it flashes at 120bpm if your trying to lock it with a door not closed properly

Certainly think it should be 'enabled' as default setting,to be honest can't think of any (non-silly) reason why you would want them disabled?

Ive read this thread but sorry cant understand Why T is or WHy he is leaving this must have been before I joined F/Forum but I have to agree He is a very helpfull and knowledgable member and members on this site will be I AM SURE sad to see him go {if thats whats happening}

LOL...well my workload at work is about to double at the end of the month from now on of which alot of it I will have to bring home with me so I simply wont have anytime whatsoever.Also another addition to my family,which I cherish above all else,will take up any remaining time I have so I'd rather take a back seat from this & the other forums I frequent...which probably all add up to a few hours a night.

LOL need to get a new mobile then & tell receptionist i'm 'on a test drive'

Didnt ask for it in the end as the service manager seemed a bit pissed off at the amount of things that had gone in the box and how long it took to fix!
