Hi,

so i dont know if this has already been mentioned but, im in college doing mechanics and one of the tutors is a ex fiat technician and has told me that when you get a code saying the passenger airbag is faulty especially when you get passenger occupancy sensor error that it could be the drivers side not the passenger side. This is because of the way the map is set up and some vehicles have the left hand drive map put on so the ecu reads the drivers side as the passenger side!!! i know i was unsure whether he was pulling my leg at first but since i had tried everything on the passenger side including buying one of those by pass devices i gave it a shot and disconnected all the plugs under the drivers seat and reconnected them and everything was fixed with the airbag problems!!!! :slayer::slayer:

If anyone else has the problem it is worth trying the drivers side before purchasing a bypass like i wish i did :worship::worship:

It's well known that when some diagnostic programs, such as MES, say passenger or driver side it refers to left hand drive cars. So for a right hand drive car, if it says the fault is passenger side, it would be the driver side.

As the OCS was only fitted to the passenger side seat, it doesn't really matter what side the diagnostic program says, it always means the passenger side of a LHD or RHD car.

Would be much clearer it they only used left or right side.
