Called in to fill up with petrol yesterday, pressed the dimple as usual, and the cover fell off and landed at my feet!! Took a quick look, and one of the hinges had fractured. So off I went to my local dealer, filler cover in hand........ "no problem we'll order a new one and call you to have it fitted". Took the paint serial number in order that they can have the thing sprayed to the right colour before fitting, all very satisfactory. I did ask if they had experienced any other Stilo users with the same problem...... "Yeah, quite a few, but it seems that the replacements must be a different design, as we have had no repeat failures".

Anyone have any info ???

Mine can be a bit stiff sometimes.

Oo-er - Just realised what that sounds like. I mean, the filler cap on my Stilo can, on ocasion, be more difficult to operate that I would generally expect. It's never broken though...

Prior to the hinge failing there was no signs of stiffness, and given the comment from the dealer I think this may be yet anothyer poor design fault for the Stilo. Will keep you posted on events, not heard from the dealer yet.

Filler cover has been replaced by the dealer, good colour match so well pleased. Seems fine, will let you know if there are any developments

Anyone know how much this should cost... it's quite annoying that i've had to shell out so much money on my fiat... and it's still standard! Is there an alloy style replacement etc.. or any stylish replacements as opposed to having to shell out for a bog standard 'flappy cap'?
