Hi,

The bearings on my hub need replacing and by the time they have been replaced (specialist job requiring a press and services of a local mechanic - ouch!), it stands to be rather expensive.

I can do a complete hub assembly change myself ..... a straight-forward spanner job.

So, on the offchance - if anyone has a complete offside hub assembly (inc bearings in working order) kicking about and lives no more than 50-odd miles from me (Herts) I'd be happy to exchange it at reasonable cost for some coin of the realm, or a crate of beer etc. If it needs taking off a car, I may be able to to that as well (so long as I don't forget any tools!)

Apparently, the hub is interchangeable with many stilo models, inc a 1.2 and 16v petrol ....

Alternatively, if you know someone who has one available, perhaps on a car that's about to meet its maker in "scrap heaven" ... please let me know ....

Mail me on [email protected] or ring me on 0791 3064760 and I'll arrange to pick it up asap

Thank you ...

Neil

Already considered that .... a new bearing is fifty-odd quid, plus the cost of getting it pressed in ....

Plus, I lose use of the car while it's being done and have to get the hub to a garage .... nearest one, ten miles away with no transport.

A complete hub with s/h bearing will cost much less and solves more problems than it creates.

Thanks for the suggestion though.
