Hello

Has anyone fitted an aftermarket exhaust on their JTD and got a deeper tone? I've seen this video on youtube and I quite like the sound of it :D It's not something that i'm serious about doing at the moment but who knows! I've heard some bigger exhausts on diesels and they sound louder in a horrible way. If I did go through with it I don't want it to sound like a tractor! Anyone know about cost? would it have to a custom system?

theres these guys who at your end of the country (albeit the opposite side)
http://www.blueflameperformance.com/

ill be booking my 1.6 in with them when i FINALLY get everything mechanical and interior sorted.

i had one of their cans on my bike and it sounded AWESOME. It used to pop and bang on over run way more than the standard can (y) and the first time i fired her up after fitting it shot a foot long blue flame out of the tailpiece ;)

you could always go for Powerflow

i had one fitted to my Celica for many years and as long as you get your booklet stamped every year they offer a lifetime warranty with it. i had mine done on MOT day so i wouldnt forget to get it inspected and stamped! sounded beautiful in built up terraced estates where the racket really rattled round the houses. ive never had massive loud exhausts on cars as it just invites a bad reception from neighbours and the po-po but if you opt for the 'non-straight through' options i dont think you will be disapointed.

i also LOVE the flat oval tailpieces on fiats... they really suit the styling... the cinqs looked good some of the new 500s look good and the stilo doesnt seem to be any different!

Thanks for the links. Theres also ExhaustsUK who are in Sheffield. I'm not serious enough about it yet to get quotes. The exhaust in the video sounds nice.
