Having a problem with my Stilio 1.9jtd 2005

After driving for 20 minutes the temp gauge goes into red and lcd tells me to stop engine.

After i bit of research i beleive the water pump may be the problem as

When i switch the heater on it only blows cold air

Am i right in my assumption?and should i get the timing belt changed while i get the pump changed?

Also any estimate of what it might cost

Thanks in advance

Yes it's extremely likely to be a water pump failure which seems to be more common on the JTD. Have a look in the filler reservoir as the engine warms up and no stream of returning coolant from the small tube at the top of the reservoir means no flow = nothing being pumping around. No pressure released when you release the cap = no blockage and no flow

Yes it's well worthwhile and perhaps silly not to replace the cambelt and tensioner at the same time. I would hope for £250 - £300 to have the jobs done by garage
